Commonly abnormal blood tests in type 2 diabetes: practicalities of management and pitfalls to avoid
This session will cover the requesting, interpretation and management of commonly abnormal blood tests in people living with type 2 diabetes in primary care. Specifically , this session will cover abnormal thyroid function tests, liver blood tests and iron studies which are all frequently requested in primary care. The theme of this session is to avoid over-investigation and treat the person and not the number.

- Interpretation and management of abnormal thyroid blood tests including subclinical hypothyroidism in primary care
- Interpretation and management of abnormal iron studies in primary care
- Interpretation and management of abnormal liver blood tests and identification of those at risk of NAFLD/MASLD in primary care
