This presentation looks at the close association between diabetes and heart failure from epidemiology to the diagnosis and current management strategies from a heart failure perspective.

Learning outcomes:

• To recognise the close association between Diabetes and Heart Failure with associated adverse outcomes.
• To recognise the importance of early diagnosis and consider strategies to facilitate this particularly in Primary Care.
• To be aware of current management strategies for different types of heart failure and their relevance to people with concomitant diabetes.
