NHS England Recommends GlucoRx Meters for people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes

GlucoRx Stand: D60

NHS England have released new guidance after conducting a clinically led national assessment to better understand the products available and how they meet the needs of all people living with diabetes.

This guidance will ensure that these people have continued access to world-class meters, test strips and lancets, in line with GlucoRx’s ethos for effective diabetes control to enable best treatment decisions to live a fulfilling life.

The GlucoRx Meters recommended by the NHS are:

  1. GlucoRx HCT Blood Glucose & Ketone Meter - for people with Type 1 and people with Type 2 Diabetes who are prone to ketosis.
  2. GlucoRx Q Blood Glucose Meter* - for people with Type 2 Diabetes.
  3. GlucoRx Nexus Blue Blood Glucose Meter - for people with Type 2 diabetes who require enhanced functionality, and for use in paediatrics.
  4. GlucoRx KEYA Blood Glucose & Ketone Meter - for people with Type 1 diabetes and people with Type 2 diabetes who are prone to ketosis.

Managing the growing incidence of diabetes in England is set to be one of the major clinical challenges of the 21st century. Currently, 3.6 million people are living with diabetes in England, and estimates suggest that this number is expected to rise to 4.2 million people by 2030, affecting almost 9% of the population.

It is also estimated that around five million people in England are at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The NHS Long Term Plan sets out a range of actions that the NHS is taking to reduce variation in access to services and patient outcomes, improve quality of treatment and outcomes for people living with type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
