New JBDS Co-Chair among the speakers at DPC Conference
The new co-chair of the Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care Group (JBDS-IP) will be among the organisation’s influential figures at this year’s Diabetes Professional Care conference.
Dr Omar Mustafa, who is a Consultant Physician in Diabetes and General Internal Medicine at King’s College Hospital in London, has taken on the key role alongside Professor Ketan Dhatariya.
Dr Mustafa is expected to lead a session at the conference on how to implement JBDS guidelines and another session on multidisciplinary management of inpatient diabetes cases and scenarios.
Representatives from the highly respected organisation will also be running sessions on implementing the 2022 National Advisory Panel for Care Home Diabetes (NAPCHD) recommendations, reducing variations in diabetes care through national programmes and type 2 diabetes and lifestyle guidelines from the EASD.
Fellow JBDS co-chair, Professor Ketan Dhatariya, who is a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology, will also host a session about the guidelines JBDS has produced over the years.
This session will highlight the updates which have taken place in the past 12 months and the new documents which JBDS has released.
