Amy works as an Involvement Officer within the Involvement Team at Diabetes UK. The team’s purpose is to support people impacted by diabetes to utilise their experiences to make change within the charity, to ensure their work is informed by what people living with diabetes, want and need. Amy supports the Diabetes Lived Experience Advisory Committee who meet regularly with Diabetes UK’s CEO and Executive Team to collaborate and advise on different pieces of work and plans. Amy has a background in health psychology, looking at the impact a long-term condition, such as diabetes, can have on a person’s wellbeing. She has worked within the NHS and several third sector organisations to provide mental wellbeing support through peer support and positive psychology practices.
