Cathy works as a Diabetes Specialist Midwife between Leicester Diabetes Centre and UHL supporting women with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes who are planning pregnancy, are pregnant and are in the postnatal period. Cathy predominantly works with people using Hybrid Closed Loop (HCL) therapy including commencing HCL and optimizing glucose control with these systems. Her role provides continuity of care for women using this technology during pregnancy and support for training other staff. Cathy trained in Northern Ireland and worked as a midwife there prior to moving to Leicester in 2021 following completion of the Diabetes Specialist Practice course.
