Dr Louisa Herring is the Physical Activity, Research and Implementation Lead Research Associate in the NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre at the Leicester Diabetes Centre.
In this role Dr Herring researches in the area of physical activity and clinical populations (Type 2 Diabetes, obesity and multiple other long term conditions [LTCs]) and leads the translation of physical activity research into implementable tools for people living with or at risk of LTCs.
Dr Herring has recently developed a physical activity pathway for young people living with type 2 diabetes and undertaken multiple trials to increase activity and/or improve fitness and function in individuals living with LTCs. Focusing more recently on the 24-hour physical behaviours and utilising technology to measure, monitor and promote personalised physical activity for individuals living with or at risk of long LTCs.
