Rachel Elliott

Rachel Elliott

Professor of Health Economics, University of Manchester
Rachel is Lead for the Manchester Centre for Health Economics (MCHE) (http://research.bmh.manchester.ac.uk/healtheconomics/) and Visiting Professor at the University of Queensland, Australia, and a UK registered pharmacist. She been awarded over £38 million funding in applied health economics research which has influenced health policy and practice in the UK and internationally, completed a Harkness Fellowship at Harvard Medical School and has authored two books and over 200 research publications. She was the lead economist on the Diabetes-UK funded FLASH-UK trial, and is currently leading the economics on the Abbott-funded FreeDM2 trial. She was a member of a NICE technology appraisal committee from 2006-23 and currently chairs the Selection Panel for the NIHR Advanced Clinical and Practitioner Academic Fellowship Awards.
